Day 1 Walk Cornwall gets under way
At last we are here and WC2 started this morning. The teams gathered this morning with stories to tell of journeys; one taking numerous ferries, a plane, a kip of some hours on a bench and then a bus to finally arrive. Others delayed by closed roads. My own story was of an un-eventual journey except the last 30 seconds when I scraped the side of the brand new hired van on a wall leaving deep gouge marks!
However nothing stopped us from God's work.
We gathered at Centenary Methodist in Camborne; the congregation warmly welcomed us with refreshments and even provided lunch later for many. Sorting into teams, old friendships were renewed and new ones began to form.
Then it was on to Wesley Methodist for the Commissioning service. Although a little drizzly we stood outside and sang and prayed and received a blessing for the week led by the local Church Leaders.
Then teams departed with their hosts.
However even as we were focussed on ourselves at this point, there were those tasked in the street to talk with passers by and one young man was led to make a first step of commitment of faith. Lets pray that when he got home the Holy Spirit continued to work in his life to affect a lasting change. Praise God and may he be one of many who are brought to faith or at least to consider what its all about for the first time during this mission.
