Day 2 Sunday 22nd Sept
A large group of people gathered at Carn Brea, a hill between Redruth and Camborne, to pray. The site allows a tremendous view over a large stretch of Cornwall and over 10% of the county population apparently live within a 6 mile radius of this point. We prayed and sang and asked God to pour His Spirit on this land and into the hearts of those around us that there might be a new awakening to the Gospel. One church leader spoke of the fact that in the past he has felt as if he was pushing a rock up a hill as he encouraged his congregation in outreach. Yet on this mission he felt as if the rock was rolling away from him as the momentum of interest and enthusiasm grew a pace! Praise God.
We were joined by 20 YWAM volunteers who are staying in the area this week and have become involved in the mission. Their joy was infectious and it was a joy to hear them singing and praying for this land.
At Daniel's first Night of Colour engagement there was a man who obviously didn't want to be there. In a conversation afterwards it was good to challenge him with his need for faith. What he took from that we won't know. It's in God's hands. We pray that something has started in his life this night.
Two team members went to dinner with an openly gay male couple and they spoke openly with them of faith. They hope to follow them up during the week.
These are the stories we know of today. I am sure there wil be many others. Please pray for the teams as they go about the sowing and reaping of the harvest
