Richard writes
“Roger and I have just returned from leading TFM teams in Southam and Southend. In Christchurch parish, Southend, 60% of the people surveyed believed in some kind of God, but a higher proportion wanted to know Him personally. In both towns, the fields were ripe and much fruit was picked, for which we give Him thanks and all the glory. At a time when religious teaching and ethics are under enormous threat, with clampdown on extremist Muslim groups possibly leading to Christians being tarnished with the same brush, it was encouraging yesterday to come across teaching directing us to spend our time and energies less on combating darkness and more on spreading the light.
Then in my reading today, God commended Levi for honouring and revering His name and, as ever, results followed : 'true instruction was found in his mouth and nothing false was found on his lips. He walked with me in peace and righteousness, and turned many from sin.' (Malachi 2 : 6). The world’s need for truth is ever present. As evangelists, that truth burns deep within us. Putting the two together is what we’re called to do.”

TFM at the UCCF Forum
As part of TFM's drive to reach out to a younger group of people and to encourage young people to join us on mission, TFM set up a stand at the Universities and Colleges Christian Fellowship annual conference called Forum held at Oswestry in Shropshire from 1st to 5th September. David Baslington reports on how it went.

Southam Mission
At the same time as the Hope on Sea mission in Southend, TFM's Roger Murphy was leading another Hope mission in Southam in Warwickshire.
Here's Rogers report:
"The Southam Deanery HOPE 14 Mission went really well with around 140 responses at the various outreach events. The main events were well attended with many invited guests from outside the church coming to music, comedy nights, scalextric evenings and pub events with many responding. The local events were generally less well attended but good and we ended up with a smaller team than expected. We covered a wide area reaching many people and Graham Nunn, a Church Army children’s evangelist, visited all the schools and led a big Messy Church event for around 200 people at the end of the week.
Everyone who has responded is being followed up and invited to several 'Just Looking' courses starting in w/c 6 Oct right across the Deanery area."

Two Men with One Heart
Peter Adams, who help found TFM with Daniel Cozens in 1986, has finally fully retired from TFM. After taking retirement from full time ministry in 2006 Peter continued to support us in the role of part time Evangelist Emertius until September this year.
Read Peter's thoughts on how he first came to meet Daniel here. |
