How can you say God loves me in a world of suffering?

When we ask people in a beliefs survey what one question they would like to ask God, the problem of suffering is always the top answer by some distance.

Why? Because each of us experiences suffering in our lives or in the lives of those we love. It is a deep, personal & painful mystery.

Does faith have any answer? I cannot speak for other faiths but I believe that Christianity offers a very profound answer that touches on the central events of the Bible’s story.

Whether this will be adequate to satisfy the questions of a non-Christian remains to be seen but it’s an answer that takes the question seriously and offers genuine hope.

Because this is a Christian response, I will be using the Bible a lot more than in the science theme.
